Would u have it any other way....
Ever see so much off the rocker stuff in one day that u can't remember all of it when u want? To start, I'm watching the toronto news and there is a guy in a rental truck threatening to set himself on fire. They said all of Toronto's emergency services and staff were ready to respond. I have a lot to say about this situation but let's go to my next example. I talk about the ottawa bus system a fair bit because I find it has a whole separate code of conduct than outside it's doors. I hopped on the #1 to get home from Billings as I usually do. I was carrying three grocery bags so i opted to stand by the back doors out of people's way. Oh, there was also this incredibly beautifl girl on it too. I love short girls in trackpants for some reason. So I stood at the door waiting for my stop, 5 after the mall i think. At the first stop there was a tall woman, maybe 40s or 50s, and her friend/mate/whatever. The woman had a cane but looked able to walk well enough, her friend didn't seem to have any physical impediments. So as they go on, the bus driver yelled, "I need two priority seats". Side note, priority seats are the seats at the front for people in wheelchairs, elderly, pregnant women, etc... So the woman turns back and says it is ok. The bus wasn't packed or anything, there was lots of aisle room. Then the driver tells the guy he'd rather he sit down and not have an accident. So a person moves and they sit down. The first words the guy said after he sat were "That was sure embarassing". Maybe this doesn't seem like a big deal to you, but the tone of the bus driver seemed pretty rude to me. If you have ever seen South Park you will probably know the voice of Ms. Crabtree, the bus driver. That was what it was like. I would have been very embarassed myself. Next situation, the gas station worker in BC who was killed by trying to stop two teenagers from the old "pump and run". All I have to say is, if you wanna drive, just pay. I know the government screws us left right and centre. Do you really think you've won if you drive away with 50 bucks of gas which you'll probably end up paying a huge fine on anyway?
THen there was a girl playing street fighter at school today. That was just odd to me.
And this one takes the cake. Everyone knows of hobbits now, but did you know they actually existed? According to most recent addition to the fossil record, Sam and Frodo didn't originally come from the Shire. Like all of us, they emigrated out of Africa a long while back. Here's the site of an expert in Paleontology, or Anthropolgy, i forget. http://www.corante.com/loom/archives/2005/03/03/the_hobbits_brain.php Have a read, it's an interesting one. If you're still longing more info on our ancestors, type in "amphioxus" into a google search. Afterall, before primates we came from fish, if you do be sure to check out the Amphioxus song. I had to learn it in my first year evolution course.
And if anyone is interested in the nerdy crap I like to read about, check out http://www.corante.com/pipeline . This guy works in the field I hope to some day. If you don't get any of the humour don't feel too bad. We're a sad group of people.
