The excitement never ends
I don't know where to start on this one. How's bout last thursday, no, wednesday at 2:00pm. My last sit in exam. Stats carelton. For me it's round 2 with this stupid course and I hate to say it but there may be a round 3. I ALWAYS have a brain fart when writing exams. It's a safer bet than throwing yourself off a 20 story building. Needless to say it didn't go well. All 3 of my associates in that class also found it extremely difficult. I mean the class was basic easy up till the exam...the labs were a joke and the midterm was easier than beating the raptors this season. Anyway, it was over that night and time to let loose. I started my break with some tennis with Tim Tim. He just got a new racket and was pretty stoked to play. I cleaned him
6-0, 6-4 i think. It was the racket's fault he lost. And i guess i should call it my break yet because I have 4 papers due tomorrow by lunch and I haven't started them yet. So on to thursday. Late wednesday night I got a call from steve to go get all you can eat wings at Marshy's. So me, matt, and tim all piled in the car and headed over to nepean. We met up with steve and let the games begin. Now i've never seen a team pitcher before so was mighty excited to order one. SOmething like 4L of beer for 24 bucks. Everything went down smooth until i went outside with steve and his buddy. Steve's buddy was looking inside at the bar and saw matt talking to some rather large guy. I decided to go investigate and assist if necessary. I went and talked to tim who said that matt spit in my beer and a guy working there said he couldn't serve it now because of health regulations. So matt was giving this guy a talking to. Kudos to him for some of the stuff he said. I'm 100% sure the liquid courage was doing the talking and not him. So he came back to the table and I yelled at him because there was still more than half a beer left when i went outside. A few moments later passed and our waitress came to investigate and then brought me another beer. So then I had to put up with Matt telling me all the way home that he got me a free beer. He couldn't understand the fact that he owed me one anyway after spitting in mine so he just got out of paying for one.
Friday - My landlord started renovating his basement last week I guess and they took down the chimney on friday. I've been able to sleep through the construction most of the time. The guy ripping down the chimney was no older than me. Oh, we had, still don't, no hot water since thursday morning. I was told it would be no more than a day.( more on this later) So the guy is tearing down drywall and chipping out mortar and all of a sudden the fire alarm goes off. No biggie. I'm sittin on my computer checkin out new parts i'm gonna buy. After like 5 minutes of the fire alarm plus some other alarm i've never heard before i hear fire engines outside. I go out on the balcony and see 3 firefighters coming up to my house. One came up the stairs and checked it and called in a false alarm. After the engine and cop guy leave the alarm goes off again. It turns out the door alarm was the one still going off so we found a way to turn that off. So friday night, I stayed in i think and watched Friday Night Lights. Pretty good, not spectacular. It was really dark, and that I liked.
Saturday - Very uneventful day. Should have done the essays but didn't. And now the weather has turned to absolute bolshevik. It's friggin cold. With the chimney gone and a hole going straight to the attic and basement, a lot of cold air flow is happening. I had to put on two shirts plus my house coat and spongebob slippers to feel warm. I got some reasearch done on the essays so it wasn't a total waste. I went to bed early.
Sunday - Slept in cause it was cold outside my bed covers. I've been watching tv all day and now I'm writing something trying to be productive. So it's cold in here, and no hot water. My hair was getting really gross so I thought I'd get clean. This entailed heating 3 big pots of water to wash my hair, face, and shave in. That was fun. Made me feel like a pioneer or something.
So now here we are. 7:00pm, 4 papers to write, a HUGE pile of laundry behind me and no more left over pizza, but lost of C2 coke. I have no job lined up for the summer, so if you would like to hire me, I would like to work for you. Leave a comment and I'll get back to you. D-block is coming home tomorrow so we'll chill sometime. Ray emailed me with allusions to some summer adventures. Nick's goin to Cali, Tim's hookin up and prolly movin there. Seems like a branching point. The kind you can't control which path is coming and which is going. I heard someone is expecting me to be around C-dot for something in may, we'll see about that. I'm starting to find interest in martial arts and plan to study Gracie Jiu-jitsu (or at least watch the instructional videos) during the summer. Feels like new things are coming and old things are going. I'm excited and am ready to embrace the new whatever it may be. I think the one thing I've learned this year is that when everything starts to go away and disappear, and it seems like there isn't much to look forward too, something is coming, and it's the learning and acceptance of letting go that prepares you to embrace the new. You can't look at new things from every angle to see how it may play out if you're already too grounded, and your vision is restricted and occupied by what surrounds, or did surround you previously.

Well, turns out some punk kids burned down Horizon Plastics. Can't wait to minister to those types in September. See you in May.
